What I want to know is how your head survived at all!

Subject: Steering Wheel Removal

Mike,

About the steering wheel removal: I had the very same question about 6
months ago. I had already damaged the original steering wheel in an attempt
to get it off with a puller. I had a new wheel to install but was trying to
salvage the old wheel. Gord Souter wrote me on the list-serve reporting
that he had never found a steering wheel that couldn't be removed by
grabbing it firmly and pulling it off by hand. You can check the archives
for my original posting and Gord's response.
Basically if you grab the wheel at 3 and 9 o'clock and pull on one side
then the other, rocking the wheel back and forth, it should break free after
about 5 pulls. I remember, in my case, nothing happened at first. I was
about to write Gord back to report his idea didn't work. At the last
minute, I moved my hands to the 12 and 6 o'clock position and tried again.
The wheel "popped" and slid right off. Good luck.

This Sundays Chicago Sun Times has a Target Store flier which has a 67 blue( wife says it's green maybe she's right) passenger visor missing, Amphicar inside. Their showing picture frames on sale on one of the pages and inside the frame is a picture of the Amphi. By the way, It shows the last two digits of the license plate as TZ and has a bride and groom swimming away on possibly their honeymoon.

Check your Sunday papers for this Target Flier. It seems you never know when an Amphi will pop up these days.

Mike

Hi Fellow swimmers,

I am on a 15 day journey across the med in search of the missing
amphi's. I will update you when I find them. We have just left Turkey
and our way to Athens Greece. I keep looking over the side of the
ship but I haven't seen one yet 8-)
