We have had several clients contact the Help Desk regarding problems downloading and installing LPR Spooler. From the "Printing from Windows 95/98 to an MITnet Printer" http://web.mit.edu/is/pubs/ns-56/ the link to the net-dist page is broken: ftp://net-dist.mit.edu/mit/win3/network/lwp4dos/individual-files/net/mit/ Also, after downloading the LPR Spooler installer from the page, http://web.mit.edu/installers/win.combined/LPRSpool/wlprinst.exe it will not install. After about 70% of the installer has run, it gives the following error message: NetInstaller Error Server could not find directory. Please see the following URL for more information: http://web.mit.edu/installers/iniftp.html According to the LPR_ftp.log, it could not connect to the right directory: Wed Mar 14 14:07:28 2001 Connected to net-dist.mit.edu. Wed Mar 14 14:07:28 2001 Server could not find directory /mit/bin/win3/LPRSpool/ini. From what we can tell, the installer has been removed from net-dist (as well as the bin/win3 directory). We still have clients who would like this, and are wondering if there is another place to get the installer. Thanks for you help.
