Thanks for your help, Mark,

tried this - didn;t seem to work (as I interpreted your instructions, anyway)

I commented out ALL references to 'wavelan_cs' and 'wvlan_cs', and then I got NO eth0 device recognized. This probably wasn't what you meant.

The result from the cardctl ident is:

Socket 0:
  product info: "D", "Link DWL-650 11Mbps WLAN Card", "Version 01.02", ""
  manfid: 0x0156, 0x0002
  function: 6 (network)
Socket 1:
  no product info available

I **VERY** much appreciate your efforts, but when I tried to load the appro module (prism2) manually, i got the same response that I got before - namely the dreaded:

root@bike:/lib/modules/2.2.17/pcmcia
68 % modprobe prism2sta_cs
/lib/modules/2.2.17/net/p80211.o: unresolved symbol netlink_kernel_create
/lib/modules/2.2.17/net/p80211.o: unresolved symbol netlink_broadcast
/lib/modules/2.2.17/net/p80211.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.2.17/net/p80211.o failed
/lib/modules/2.2.17/net/p80211.o: insmod prism2sta_cs failed

How will this problem (which a few people have run into) be resolved.

Again, I HAVE compiled the netlink stuff into the kernel, but keep getting this error.

Cheers
Harry
