TO ALL IS STAFF:

As we have discussed at several ILead meetings, the Competency Group
has revised the Performance Appraisal form for 2001. We do realize
-- and apologize -- that this may be too late for use with support
staff. We do want to get it out for use in the administrative staff
reviews in 2001. We have tried to make revisions based on feedback
we have received, and we hope it will be usable beyond this coming
year.

The new appraisal form is up on the CG Web Page. As we had indicated
several ILead meetings ago, you can use the same form and process as
in 2000 (Option A: http://web.mit.edu/is/competency/processa.html) or
use a simplified process, designed to better integrate the MIT
Compensable Factors (Option B:
http://web.mit.edu/is/competency/process.html).

Especially because of the changes in form and approach, we are
scheduling a series of half hour training sessions for all primary
reviewers and staff in four sites:

Monday, 1/29, 2:00:	N42 - Demo Center
Tuesday, 1/30, 2:00:	W20 - Private Dining Room 3
Wednesday, 1/31, 1:30:	W92 - 203
Thursday, 2/1, 3:00:	E19 - 732.

Please reply to this message (or let me know by voice mail, hand
written note, or embossed response card) which session you would plan
to attend, so we can arrange the space appropriately and have
sufficient copies of materials.
