Or vice versa, why F-15s got almost all kills, despite the fact that there were many potential interceptors/air superiority fighters in the coalition arsenal. Not only Tomcats, but also Tornado F3s and Mirage 2000s were left without any fixed-wing kills. I must really recommend this "G.A.W -Debrief"-book for you, and anybody else interested in the aerial campaign during the Desert Storm. It's by far the best book I've seen about this subject. The illustration is superb, there are complete lists of kills and losses the whole war is discussed day by day and - best of all - there is a whole *LOT* of interesting stories and interviews told by the pilots themselves, f.ex the crew of the bagged F-14A+ (F-14B now!) describes in quite a detail how they got hit and how they survived in the Iraqi desert... very interesting indeed!
