The services rendered under this invoice are for the MIT Wireless Networking project, a collaborative effort with Avaya Communication (formerly part of Lucent Technologies) and funded by the Provost's Office. This work was a survey necessary to determine equipment positioning for wireless access points, of which approximately 300 will be placed around the MIT campus. The equipment being deployed, already purchased by the project, is Avaya equipment, and the vendor used for this survey is Avaya's recomended VAR in the Massachusetts area. We have previously used this vendor for other work on this project, including the purchase of equipment to be deployed. All previous pricing has proven to be favorable. In addition to providing a new level of network serivce to the MIT community, the services of this project are expected to be utilized by several current MIT initiatives, including the TEAL project, the Student Laptop Initiative, and several I-Campus proposals.
