SNICKERDOODLES

1 C shortening                        2 tsp. cream of tartar
1.5 C + 3 Tbsp. sugar         1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs                                0.5 tsp. salt
2.75 C flour                  3 tsp. cinnamon

Mix shortening, 1.5 C sugar and eggs.  Mix in flour, cream of tartar,
soda and salt to make dough.  Chill dough.

Roll dough into 1" balls and roll balls in mixture of 3 Tbsp. sugar and
3 tsp. cinnamon.

Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet 8-10 minutes at 400 F.

Makes 5 dozen cookies.
