I've progressed to removing the kdb5.conf file from the /etc directory and trying the following command. bones# ./kdb5_create -r WUSTL.EDU -d principle -M BONES from which I get this response; ld.so.1: ./kdb5_create: warning: /usr/4lib/libc.so.1.8 has older revision than e xpected 9 Initializing database 'principle' for realm 'WUSTL.EDU', master key name 'BONES@WUSTL.EDU' You will be prompted for the database Master Password. It is important that you NOT FORGET this password. kdb5_create: Invalid argument while reading master key bones# I've been repremanded for not upgrading libc.so.1.8, but when I do that I get core dumps abound, so I think I'll stick with 1.8 for now. What I don't understand is the last line "kdb5_create: Invalid argument while reading master key" where I think I'm supposed to be entering a password. Could someone please advise. This is an install of v5b5 on Solaris 4.2. Thanx. Rich.
