It is.  I and many others use it all the time. Big time ISPs use
it with hundreds of lines.  Cyclades is still confused about how
to correctly use the Cirrus Logic CL1400 chip in our environment.
They haven't even figured out to reverse pins 4 and 20 in their designs yet.

IMHO, if the decision was up to the FreeBSD team, my code would be in the
tree.  However, Bruce Evans has decided that it will NOT be included
for any reason, because his driver works fine. Contrary to what
everyone tells me.

It works great and is less filling. 8-)

Though my driver doesn't support some of the more innane functionality of
the FreeBSD cy driver.

Many people run 16 lines on a 486DX2/66.  Others use P90s.  I haven't
heard of any problems from any of them.

I use ppp, though I don't really have an opinion of one over the other.
