For programmers- a product that is potentially an MIT-wide
site-license candidate has come to my attention: Insure++ from
Parasoft. It is roughly comparable to Purify in that it is a program
debugging tool that does memory leak detection and various related
things. They have a Web page at www.parasoft.com that has lots of
info and downloadable evaluation copies.

Could those of you interested in such a product let me know what you think,
whether or not you actually try it out?

The site fee is quite reasonable ($5,000). They also say they will take
support calls from anyone at MIT. Feel free to pass this on...
