So I finally got around to getting my Alum Card today, and while I was there
I picked up one of their flyers about the MIT Card, and what it says about
the Affiliate category of people-eligible-for-cards says to me that proving
oneself a member of a student activity is sufficient.  So since you two have
such an affiliation, and have no stronger connection to MIT, you should clearly
make yourselves test cases by getting some nice official CAC or I/S person
to write and sign a letter on official letterhead stating that you are a
member of SIPB and hence an MIT affiliate, then take the letter and photo ID
to the MIT Card Office (E32-200) and ask for a keycard as an Affiliate.  Then
let us know what happens :-)
