Two men and a woman who all appeared to be in their late teens were
found shot to death Sunday in a Santa Fe Springs park, Los Angeles County
Sheriff's deputies said.

The bodies were discovered at about 6 a.m. near a barbecue pit at Lake
Center Park in the 11600 block of Florence Avenue, Deputy Rob Weber said.

Deputies found the bodies while responding to two calls reporting
shots fired, Weber said. One resident said the shots came from a nearby
high school, and another said the shots came from a site several blocks
away from the school, Weber said. No suspects were in custody, and it was
not known if the victims were shot elsewhere and dumped in the park, he
said.

The triple homicide is among 10 killings reported in the county over
the weekend. In other violence:

   * An unidentified man was found shot to death at 5:45 a.m. Sunday in a
front yard in the 1000 block of West 107th Street in unincorporated
county territory, deputies said.

   * A 31-year-old man who had been beaten to death was dumped from a car
onto Marland Street, just north of Orange Avenue, in La Puente at about 1
a.m. Sunday. He was identified as Ismael Lugo of La Puente. A suspect who
was arrested near the scene was identified by the Sheriff's Department as
Raul Canseco, 28, of El Monte.

   * A 14-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man were killed, and three
other people were wounded in a drive-by shooting Saturday night outside
the Little Five Point Liquor Store in the 2600 block of Mountain Avenue
in El Monte. Alin Garcia, the 14-year-old, died at Queen of the Valley
Hospital in West Covina of a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said.
David Tornell, who was shot in the abdomen, died at Greater El Monte
Community Hospital, authorities said.

   * A 19-year-old El Monte man fleeing from a robber was shot and killed
Friday night in his driveway in the 2700 block of Maxon Road. Two
companions were unharmed and the gunman escaped, police said. The
victim's name was not released.

   * Five people were shot, one of them fatally, Friday night during a
drive-by shooting in the 5000 block of West Ferndale Street in the
Mid-City area. The group was standing on Ferndale near Alsace Street when
someone in a red Jeep pulled up to the curb and opened fire, authorities
said. Police identified the dead man as Terre Purnell, 24.

   * A 21-year-old Los Angeles man was shot to death as he stood on a
sidewalk south of downtown early Sunday, police said. Daniel Aparicio,
21, was shot several times in the chest "for no apparent reason" at 3:50
a.m. as he stood on the 600 block of West 17th Street, investigators
said.
