After spending 2 1/2 months in Australia, using a Greyhound Aussie Explorer bus pass, I must recommend that your readers utilize Bus Australia. My pass was purchased in the United States because Greyhound locally said the passes could not be purchased in Australia (similar to the restrictions on a Eurail pass). In actuality, the passes were less expensive in Australia. Greyhound buses were consistently late, and the itinerary purchased was different from the itinerary followed. I would strongly recommend the use of Bus Australia over Greyhound Australia. PATRICK J. LENOW Irvine This article is copyright 1992 The Los Angeles Times Home Edition.
