("Vicksburg: Key to the Confederacy," Oct. 18), brought a smile to my lips. My husband and I were sure we were at the wrong address when we drove up to the Anchuca mansion. It is nestled among very old, modest homes, which distracts from any stately curb appeal. Although our room did, indeed, have a four-poster bed, the room was so small, we walked sideways between the furnishings. The breakfast was, however, one that reminded you of how luxuriously the Southern planters dined. PHYLLIS MATTHEWS Woodland Hills This article is copyright 1992 The Los Angeles Times Home Edition.
