He'll get the group's D.W. Griffith Award at the annual DGA dinner on March 6. His selection was announced Thursday by DGA President Arthur Hiller. Lumet's career includes live television drama with CBS in the 1950s, and his feature film debut was in 1957, directing Henry Fonda in "Twelve Angry Men."
