AUBRY Certco, an Orange County database service, has announced plans to open an office by the end of the year in Santa Barbara Plaza. Certco will offer 40 jobs to local residents. The jobs, which start at $8 to $10 per hour and pay up to $36,000 a year, range from data entry to administrative positions. Applications will be available in two weeks at the firm's Crenshaw district office, 3856 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Certco, based in Santa Ana, provides detailed property reports, including information on environmental risks, to financial institutions, insurance companies and consumers. "This is relatively unique business to this area," said Councilman Mark Ridley-Thomas, who praised Certco's move to the Crenshaw district. "It's important to realize we need to encourage small businesses like Certco to invest in the Southwest Los Angeles area, particularly the Santa Barbara Plaza."
