Where's the guerrilla in being a liberal artist living in Santa Monica? He couldn't be more safe and smug. Are we really to believe that his work--which is seen on city-sponsored billboards, in high-priced bookstores, in movies and on "Good Morning America"--is in any way comparable to John Heartfield fleeing Hitler? Pretentiousness reaches new heights in the art world. To me, the pigeons Conal claims are making a statement about the content of his billboard are really just a flock of art critics in dis-guise.
