Reeves felt CARAL should have switched its endorsement from one of our longtime supporters simply because he is male, while a woman (Reeves' wife) was running against him. As the political arm of the abortion-rights movement, CARAL makes a point of backing incumbents of both sexes who have taken the heat while in office and opposed any measures that would limit a woman's right to a safe and legal abortion.
