Corriea, 46, an international business lawyer, died of complications from liver cancer Oct. 23 at Georgetown University Hospital. A native of San Francisco, he received a bachelor's degree from California State University at San Francisco, a law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law and a master's degree in tax law from New York University. During his career, he worked as associate tax counsel for the Bank of America in San Francisco, which at the time was the world's largest bank. For the past 11 years, Mr. Corriea lived in Washington. He co-founded the firm Corriea and Slavit, where he was managing partner from 1980 to 1992. He specialized in major equipment acquisition and tax matters. He was widely regarded as an expert in aviation leasing and finance. In Washington, Mr. Corriea was an active supporter of numerous civic groups, including the Washington Choral Arts Society, the Cancer Ball and the Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University Hospital. He was also an avid sailor and gourmet cook. Married for 12 years to WRC-TV (Channel 4) newscaster Barbara Harrison, he is remembered by family and friends as a devoted husband and father. "In a struggle with cancer that lasted nearly a year and included two liver transplants, Mark Corriea never gave up hope, never gave into anger and lived life to the fullest possible," Mrs. Harrison said. Besides his wife, survivors include his three daughters, Alexandra, Emily and Tracy, all of Washington; a son, Peter of Washington; his parents, John Robert and Mary Elizabeth Corriea of Sonoma, Calif.; his sisters, Ann Mannix of San Francisco and Joan Baumgartner of Los Angeles; his brother, Richard Corriea of San Francisco; and numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation with the family is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m Tuesday at Gawler's Funeral Home on Wisconsin Avenue. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 3513 N St. NW in Georgetown. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of donations to the Mark F.
