Sweeney was named senior vice president and chief investment officer at USF&G Corp., a Baltimore insurer. Mr. Sweeney, who was previously a principal and practice director for Towers Perrin Asset Consulting Services, an Atlanta unit of New York management consulting firm Towers Perrin, succeeds J. Michael Gaffney, who is resigning. Jerry K. Muskovitz has moved to the Washington office of KPMG Peat Marwick, an international accounting and consulting firm, as a partner in the audit department.
