\HD David R.  Freeman, 51, stockbroker, developer

David R.  Freeman, 51, a stockbroker and real estate developer, died
Nov.  23 at his home in Fredericksburg, Va.  His family did not disclose
the cause of death.

Mr.  Freeman was born in Fredericksburg and attended the University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

In 1967, he joined the investment firm of Eastman Dillon Union
Securities and Co.  and became a senior vice president in charge of
institutional sales in the District.  During this time he lived in
Arlington.

In 1975, he moved to Easton, where he sold and developed properties on
the Eastern Shore.  He returned to Fredericksburg in 1985 and founded
Freeman and Freeman Realty Inc.

He was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church, the Historic
Fredericksburg Foundation, and Washington Golf and Country Club, and he
co-founded the Fredricksburg Festival of the Arts and of the

Survivors include his wife, Patricia H.  Tydings Freeman of
Fredericksburg; a daughter, Kimberly Rowe Freeman of New York; a son, David
Reed Freeman of Arlington; a stepson, Basil W.  "Chip" Tydings of
Fredricksburg; a brother, G.C.  "Skip" Freeman of Fredricksburg; and his
mother, Kathryn Reed Freeman of Fredericksburg.

Services will be held at 2 p.m.  today at Fairview Baptist Church in
Fredericksburg.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of
donations to the Fredericksburg Festival of the Arts, P.O.  Box 7816,
Fredericksburg, Va.  22404.
