In both cases, the description of the suspect and the crime are similar, said Howard County Detective Mike Sherman. On Monday, a woman was blindfolded and taken at gunpoint about 11:20 a.m. from her home in Howard County's Mount Airy section. A passer-by told county police that a man with a rifle or shotgun led the woman out of the house in the 17000 block of Route 144 and forced her into a small white car that headed east. Police arrived at the house to find the woman's 4-year-old daughter unharmed. The 22-year-old woman called Montgomery County police at 2:45 p.m. Monday from a home in the 19800 block of Zion Road in Laytonsville, where she said she was dropped off after being raped. In the May 14 incident, a 19-year-old woman was forced at gunpoint from her home in the 14000 block of Triadelphia Mill Road in the Dayton area of Howard County. She was also taken to an unknown location and raped, police said, before being dropped off at a commuter lot at Routes 29 and 216 in Scaggsville. The suspect in both cases is described as a white man in his 30s with dark hair and a mustache. In Monday's assault, he was wearing a long dark coat and blue jeans, Detective Sherman said.
