On Monday, 20-year-old Jamal Colbert of the 1700 block of 18th Street NW was shot in the head about 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of Third and Peabody streets NW. A private car took him to Children's Hospital, where he died Tuesday. Tuesday's slayings started at 2:17 a.m., when four persons were shot in a house in the 4700 block of Queens Chapel Terrace NE. One of the victims, whom police identified as 24-year-old Raymond Jayhue Green of the 4600 block of Benning Road SE, was killed. At 3:46 a.m., 32-year-old Joseph Lewis Taylor was found with a gunshot wound in front of his home in the 900 block of Shepard Street NW. He was pronounced dead at the Washington Hospital Center's MedSTAR unit at 7:45 a.m. At 10:36 a.m., police found the bodies of a man and woman in an apartment complex in the 3000 block of Stanton Road SE. They were identified as 19-year-old Damion Lucas of the 1100 block of Euclid Street NW and 26-year-old Sheila Curry of the 3000 block of Stanton Road SE. S=NEW STORY Avoid rush hour on Election Day The D.C. Board of Elections is asking residents to avoid voting Tuesday in the early morning or late evening, when crowds are usually the heaviest and delays the worst. "We would like to see more people vote during what are usually the slowest time at the polls, between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., if possible," board spokeswoman Leona Agouridis said.
