Charged with auto theft were Anthony Jerome Walker, 23, of the 700 block of Irving Street NW; Jennifer Lee Malcolm, 19, of the 10700 block of Timberline Drive in Upper Marlboro; and a 16-year-old boy from Silver Spring. Mr. Walker is being held on $275,000 bond and Miss Malcolm is being held on $100,000 bond, said police spokesman Alphonso Hawkins. Lt. Hawkins said Mr. Walker was driving the blue Honda during a seven-minute chase that reached speeds of 100 mph before Sgt. Roger Fleming lost control of his police cruiser and struck a tree. Sgt. Fleming was killed instantly. Miss Malcolm and the 16-year-old, who was charged as a juvenile and released to the custody of his parents, were passengers, Lt. Hawkins said. The 16-year-old and Mr. Walker were arrested separately Tuesday night and Miss Malcolm was arrested early yesterday, Lt. Hawkins said. All three are charged in the Oct. 15 theft of the Honda in the 1700 block of Country Wood Street in Landover. Lt. Hawkins said police and the State's Attorney's Office are determining whether other charges will be filed. "All charges against them will be explored," Lt. Hawkins said. Additional charges could stem from Sgt. Fleming's death and from the traffic offenses during the fatal chase. The chase began shortly before midnight Monday when Sgt. Fleming attempted to stop the Honda, which had temporary District tags, near Kenilworth Avenue and Westchester Park Drive. The chase ended when he lost control of his cruiser after hitting a high curb while trying to cross the median on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway near Route 50. Lt. Hawkins said the Honda was in another chase, with Metropolitan Police officers in Washington, about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. That chase ended when the suspects fled from the car.
