CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Dell Curry scored Charlotte's first seven points in overtime and rookie Alonzo Mourning had 34 points as the Hornets defeated the Golden State Warriors 117-110 last night. After Billy Owens' layup gave the Warriors a 102-100 lead in overtime, Curry made a long jumper to tie the score. He followed with a steal and layup and a three-point play resulting from another layup put the Hornets up 107-102 with 3:51 left. Larry Johnson added 24 points for the Hornets and Curry had 23, 11 in overtime. Chris Mullin scored 46 points for the Warriors, losers in six of their last seven games. Six straight points from Mullin put the Warriors up 98-96 with 1:42 left in regulation. After Mourning tied the score with a free throw, Tim Hardaway missed a jumper from the top of the key and Mourning rebounded to give the Hornets the ball with 1.7 seconds left. A 25-footer from Curry bounced off the back rim as time expired. Kendall Gill, the Hornets leading scorer, went down with a left ankle sprain early in the second quarter when he fell to the floor under the basket. The results of an X-ray weren't immediately known after the game. Mullin scored 14 points in the second quarter, including two three-pointers to help the Warriors to a 54-43 halftime advantage. He finished the half with 24. The comeback from a 21-point deficit tied the greatest comeback in team history and marked its 100th franchise win. The Hornets also came back from 21 points down to beat Milwaukee 119-110 on March 4 last season. Curry had to leave the game in the third quarter after suffering a cut to forehead. He returned late in the fourth quarter and immediately hit a three-pointer that was instrumental to the Hornets' comeback. Besides his 11 points in overtime, Curry had three rebounds, a block, an assist and a steal. "This was a super game for us," Curry said. "We never quit. I was in the 'zone' in overtime. My headache didn't bother me. I had so much numbness in my head I couldn't feel anything." Mourning also had a terrific game. He made 12 of 17 shots, grabbed 14 rebounds and had three blocks.
