The site contains ruins of the Abingdon plantation manor house, built in the 1730s or 1740s as part of an estate that stretched from what is now Rosslyn to the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Airport officials said that as much as 10 percent of the previously planned 6,500 parking spaces may not be needed. They expect a new design for the garage to be ready in a few weeks. S=NEW STORY Task force proposes package for oil leaks A task force has proposed a legislative package that would tighten control over oil tank farms like the one that has leaked about 200,000 gallons underground into a Fairfax County neighborhood. The commission, appointed by Gov. L. Douglas Wilder, seeks to give local governments more leverage in regulating tank farms. The legislation would increase the damages oil companies would have to pay for contaminating neighborhood properties.
