James Carville, addressing the Associated Press managing editors convention, suggested that her unsubstantiated claims led editors to be more careful. Mr. Carville compared editors to "a bunch of drunks who get together after a campaign, and you talk and say, 'We are not going to do this again.' It's like detox. "And then everybody gets out of detox and, wow, here comes Gennifer Flowers, and it was just like a jigger of whiskey for everybody at the bar, and everybody's killing each other to get it.
