The federal government yesterday sued Catholic University, charging it denied tenure to a nun because she is a woman and had complained of sexual discrimination. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced the suit on behalf of Sister Elizabeth McDonough, who started teaching at the school in 1983 but was denied tenure in 1989. University officials had no immediate comment on the suit. According to the complaint, the university's canon law department has never granted tenure to a female professor. EEOC officials ackowledged that cases challenging tenure are sensitive and difficult. S=NEW STORY Lorton escapee caught in District A murderer who escaped from Lorton prison Thursday was captured without incident last night in Northwest. Metropolitan Police nabbed Kevin Bryant King, 22, near Georgia Avenue and Girard Street NW at 7:55 p.m. King was serving 30 years to life for second-degree murder and armed robbery when he and another inmate, Daleton Horne, escaped from the medium-security prison by cutting through two chain-link fences. They stuffed pillows and blankets in their beds to make it appear they were sleeping, and police said Thursday's dense early-morning fog aided their escape.
