A reception will follow at Hearst Hall. Penny Houghteling, Miss Houghteling's mother, said in a news conference Thursday that she knows "in my guts" that her daughter is dead. The family felt it was time to hold a service and put this tragedy "in some sort of context so they can deal," she said.
