The fire, which began about 8 p.m., caused more than $150,000 worth of damage to the house in the 400 block of Janneys Lane. The family escaped unharmed from the house, and no firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation. S=NEW STORY UVa. to examine charges of racism The Darden Graduate School of Business will examine allegations of racism made by black students, school officials said. Last week, a group of students released a report to administrators, faculty and students at the University of Virginia graduate business school alleging that "systematic and institutional racism permeates all aspects of life in the Darden community." The students' report marks the second time this year a group has charged discrimination at Darden. In May, a study committee cited a hostile environment toward female faculty members.
