At 1 p.m., the Committee on Education and Libraries discusses Education in Partnership with Technology Corp. On Tuesday at 10 a.m., the Committee of the Whole meets on the city's Merit Personnel Act. At 2 p.m., the Committee on Consumer and Regulatory Affairs meets on appointments to the boards of dentistry, social work, funeral directors and alcohol beverage control, while the Committee on Judiciary discusses permanent legislation to make carjacking a crime. On Thursday at 10 a.m., the Committee on Government Operations considers Edith Barksdale Sloan's nomination as director of the Office of Campaign Finance and at 2 p.m. it hears a proposed amendment to the process for selecting delegates to national political conventions. On Friday at 10 a.m., the Committee on Economic Development works on a bill to close an alley near the home of Washington Redskins owner Jack Kent Cooke. PG COUNTY County Council Meets Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the County Administration Building, 14741 Gov. Oden Bowie Drive, Upper Marlboro, for a briefing on Fire Department issues, among other business. MONTGOMERY County Council Meets at 100 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, at 4 p.m. Monday, to work on a master plan for North Bethesda-Garrett Park. At 9 a.m. Tuesday, the council may pass an animal control law and, at 8 p.m., it will hold a hearing on Silver Spring redevelopment. Planning Board Meets 7:30 p.m. Monday to work on transportation and environmental aspects of the Clarksburg Master Plan. Meets 9:30 a.m. Thursday, 8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring. ALEXANDRIA City Council Meets in the council chambers, 301 King Street, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday for its first legislative meeting of the month, and on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. for its regular public hearing.
