COLORADO CITY, Ariz. - Actor Danny DeVito has come to the defense of a teen-ager who was disciplined for wearing a T-shirt to school depicting "The Penguin" from the "Batman Returns" movie. Mr. DeVito portrayed the evil character in the film. James Bateman, 14, had been told by the principal of his school in Colorado City, Ariz., to go home and change the T-shirt. James's mother said the principal deemed her son's T-shirt inappropriate, saying it represented devil worship. A publicist for Mr. DeVito says the actor read newspaper accounts of the boy's dilemma and has sent Penguin merchandise to the teen-ager.
