Johnson makes the comments Thursday night on ABC News' "PrimeTime Live." After retiring last November because he contracted the virus that causes AIDS, he announced in September he would rejoin the Los Angeles Lakers. Monday, he stepped down again. KING HOLIDAY MAY CINCH BOWL: Arizona voters approved a state holiday in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., so Super Bowl XXXI likely will be in Tempe in January 1996. Voted down in the 1990 general election, the holiday was approved by more than 60% of voters. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Commissioner Paul Tagliabue considers the vote an important step for the game to be at Tempe. Owners decide at March meetings. OKLAHOMA STATE PENALIZED: College wrestling's most successful program took a hard fall Wednesday when the NCAA banned Oklahoma State from this season's national tournament because of major violations. Other sanctions: No new scholarships for two years or expenses-paid visits to prospective recruits for one year. Violations included giving cash to redshirted wrestlers to compete in open meets. LISTACH IS TOP AL ROOKIE: Pat Listach became a starter and the Milwaukee Brewers' spark plug after an injury to Bill Spiers last April. Wednesday he was named the American League Rookie of the Year. In balloting by the Baseball Writers Association of America, Listach, a shortstop, had 20 of 28 first-place votes and finished with 122 points.
