Patrick Ewing, despite spraining his ankle, scored 11 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Knicks. Down 70-68 to start the final quarter, the Knicks went on a 13-0 run, paced by four points from John Starks and Ewing. LEMOND TAKES THE LEAD: Greg LeMond took the lead in the Tour Du Pont Thursday, heading into the final three days of the 11-day, 1,000-mile race. LeMond, riding for the French Z team, was 11th in Thursday's 98-mile stage, which was enough to overtake Coors Light rider Stephen Swart of New Zealand who fell to third place. Switzerland's Herbert Neiderberger won the stage. AMERICA 3 TAKES 3-1 LEAD: America 3 took a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven America's Cup final Thursday with 1:04 win over Italy's Il Moro di Venezia off San Diego. "We've made substantial (speed) improvements," said skipper Bill Koch. "Given three weeks, we could have made another substantial improvement. Our technical team has done a wonderful job."
