A Census Bureau report shows the group may outnumber the young in 50 years. Most of the oldest-old are women - for every 100 women 85 years or older, there are just 39 men in the same age group. ELVIS PRODUCTS POPPING UP: Elvis stamps aren't just for lickin'. Nearly 100 products - from jewelry to jackets - will feature the young Elvis stamp design this Christmas season. The stamp won't be issued until Jan. 8. But products incorporating the stamp design are hitting stores now. Also, the U.S. Postal Service will sell four limited-edition (200,000 each) Elvis products by mail beginning Jan. 8. (For more, see special Elvis package below.) MAGAZINE ROLLS ON: Rolling Stone magazine is turning 25. Founder Jann Wenner has made Rolling Stone one of the USA's most successful magazines. But times have changed; the magazine has grayed with time. During the 1980s, MTV and FM radio dethroned Rolling Stone to become the music industry's dominant influences. And other mags, like Details, Spin, Vibe and others are targeting the 18-24 age group. COMPANIES MARKET THROAT CREAMS: Most women use their facial moisturizer on the neck, and many skin-care products are designed for both the face and neck. But now cosmetics companies claim that the throat has needs of its own. To supposedly firm skin, Erno Laszlo Moisture-Firming Throat Cream uses seaweed and vitamin C; Stendhal RM2 Throat and Decollete Creme contains synthetic proteins. CREAMS ARE NO CURE FOR SAGS: To get rid of wrinkles on the throat, Avon offers its Anew Perfecting Complex for Chest and Neck. It uses alpha hydroxy acid to get rid of the dead skin cells. But New York dermatologist Rarrell Riegel reports in November's Allure that no throat cream can really cure the dreaded chicken-skin sag. "But a face cream will help keep it moisturized. CLOTHES LIFT BUTTOCKS UP: Just as the country is getting over its breast fixation, a new body part has come into vogue - buttocks. There are several ways to killer cheeks. Some swear by John Puzewski's three-in-one bodysuit:corset:G-string (designed for club diva Susanne Bartsch). Donna Karan's Intimates Contour line has Lycra bicycle pants that, a spokeswoman says, are stitched to "lift cheeks where they sag." STARS COMING TO `CENTER STAGE': More stars are coming to TV. VH-1 will launch its own concert series in February called "Center Stage," following on the heels of MTV's "Unplugged." Musical superstars Neil Young, k.d. lang, Gloria Estefan, Michael Bolton and Keith Richards already have been signed for the new program. Plans are now afoot to have the series launched nationally on PBS this summer. JET ORDERS IN TAILSPIN: Airlines aren't ordering new jets like they used to. The Airline Monitor reports orders for new jets this year are expected to fall to 360. That's their lowest level since 1983, when orders were 249. Jet orders reached a high of 1,662 in 1989. GENDER PAY GAP BEGINS EARLY: The Gender pay gap begins early. American Demographics reports boys' allowances are more than $1 higher than girls'. And when they get older, men average nearly $500 a week in wages, compared to $368 for women. SPECIAL PACKAGE ON ELVIS: POST OFFICE SELLS PRODUCTS: The Postal Service is offering an array of Elvis products that can be ordered. Included: A sheet of 40 mint-condition Elvis stamps in a protective sleeve that resembles a record album dust jacket, $11.60; and a 16-page commemorative album featuring rare photos and a block of four Elvis stamps, $19.95. PRINTS BEING SOLD: Elvis fans can buy a 12-inch-by-12-inch glossy print of the young Elvis portrait through the Post Office. It includes a stamp with a first-day Graceland cancellation, $14.95. The program from January's stamp debut extravaganza in Memphis is also being offered, including a stamp with the first-day Graceland cancellation, $5.95. VOTERS GET ORDER FORMS: Some 800,000 people who voted in this year's Great Elvis Stamp Election will receive mail-order forms later this month. Additional mail-order forms will be available in post offices after Jan. 8. Phone orders will be accepted at 800-782-6724 beginning Nov. 30. The Postal Service expects a $20 million profit on Elvis products, says spokeswoman Robin Minard. ALL TYPES OF PRODUCTS SOLD: Other Elvis stamp products licensed by the Postal Service and Graceland include singing T-shirts (push a button and Elvis sings "Return to Sender"), coffee mugs, duffel bags, potholders, beach towels, afghans, necklaces, watches, lapel pins, paperweights, letter openers, key chains, magnets, puzzles and limited edition prints signed by the stamp's designer, Mark Stutzman.
