I was not able to run Hotjava as anyone other than root and was
debugging it using strace.... Then all the sudden, it came up!
Persistence does pay. :-)

I also learned that the JDK distribution and other Java/Hotjava
distribution shouldn't be combined together. Silly me. I played
aroung with .java_wrapper, and it worked. Works very well, 
actually.

Just one question: where can I find source code for "whence"? I
don't really need it, but I always get the latest libs, drivers,
and kernels anyway....
