I just want to thank everyone who is working on the Linux port of 
Java.  I have taken a serious interest in the language, but have
been put off by the thought of having to develop under windows.
This port should allow me to go for longer periods with having to reboot
under that other OS.

Ok now here are my questions....

Those of you who have been running with 1.2.13, have you been using the
standard a.out kernel or an elf patched kernel?  I am considering moving
to 1.3.45, is there anything I should be concerned about?

What I have accomplished:  The jdk is installed and javac, and java
interpreter appear to be working.  The problem, again, is the appletviewer.  
My RAM is sucked dry, and the system pages itself to death.

This wouldn't have been a major concern if it wasn't for the fact that I can
not get Netscape 2b3 working correctly with java applets.  I put the .car
file in the Netscape tree and set the CLASSPATH environment correctly,
but it consistantly crashes with a bus error.  Has anyone else seen this?
