Wednesday we discussed the straw-man release process.  There wasn't
enough discussion of the process steps themselves and how we migrate to
doing them.  We did discuss pros, cons, and possibilities of different
sorts of code reviews as part of the release process.

In issues of smaller scope:

Closed the issue with Sun open since 1993 about getting linkage maps.
Installed an incremental release of SiteSearch, and found a core dump
bug (in all versions.)
Got the Dibner catalog (The holdings of the Dibner Library on the
History of Engineering which is housed at MIT but not PART of MIT.) to
load into SiteSearch with help from the kind folks at OCLC.
Reviewed issues in training as espoused by the ITLT -- I'm trying to
help them supply us with useful training and support as we learn project
management and other useful skills.

met with Jeff Harrington and Dave Lawless.  Introduced them to netprob
and started a low level (a day a week, roughly) effort to look at the
RS6000 bugs.

Subject: abs progress

Continued to debug the work which is performed after a backup completes.
Found and fixed numerous bugs in the code which reecovers the master's
state after a restart.  We'll start working on debugging restore soon.

Modified the master design spec to incorporate more flexibility in 
the error routing configuration for the abs in accordance with yesterday's
discussions at the team meeting.

Subject: Ultrix status update

a) I have built the source tree for ultrix 4.2a

b) I thought I had it all right to do automatically, but there is still
one or two things to fix up before autpmatic building frmo star to
finish goes. 

c) Paris autoupdated to 8.0 and continued to work. No, it was not
intentional, but it worked - it took me four days to notice.
