Well, as long as "contacting me first" doesn't keep it from getting fixed.

Of course, one might make the same argument for your recent LANCE 
changes.  Yes, someone tested them for you, but that doesn't mean that 
arbitrary changes (like omission of event counters, which are now broken 
on 2 ports as a result, I believe) shouldn't be run my the port-master 
for that platform first.

What I'm saying is, if you're going to apply a rule to someone, then you 
ought to be willing to have it applied to you, as well.
