Subject:Ogg 0.96c release
--------

First off, sorry for the size of the 'to' list; we should have a real
mailing list soon.

OggSQUISH 0.96c alpha is now available on the Ogg homepage at:

http://deskfish.cs.titech.ac.jp:8001/squish/

0.96c fixes a number of bugs and implments several lossy modes (in
contrast to 0.96b's single mode). It looks fairly stable; the file
format will go to a real beta soon if no new problems are found.
Aside from bugfixes, we are now turning our attention substantially
toward the lossy compression modes.

We also have executables on the alpha page for more platforms; UNIX
only at the moment tho. If someone wants to put time into DOS/Win/Mac
ports, let me know and I'll give you a hand.

Monty
