Hi folks:

I am pretty sure that this make bug is well known and has been fixed
in the latest release.  You just need to get the latest release of the
make binaries . . . . . I think it's a "dirent" bug/feature, maybe
more in the 1.3 kernel than in libc or Java but I don't know details.

On a related note, for anyone switching to later 1.3.* kernels, the
/proc/meminfo format changes and you will need to get the new versions
of utilities like top and free . . . . . they're all packaged up on
your favorite ftp site.
