I have waited a quarter century for the media to take up this crucial issue about America - that while we are a nation of relative equality and egalitarianism, people cannot and should not remove the fact of life that here, as in any healthy society, there is an aristocracy of intellect and taste. I know nearly destitute people who belong to this elite community, and I know wealthy people who do. They have more commonality between them than they do with their own economic group. J.
