Before the increase, rebates on the long-wheelbase versions of its Dodge Caravan, Plymouth Voyager and Chrysler Town & Country minivans were $1,000 for the 1992 models and $500 for the 1993 models. In California and Hawaii, the incentives were $1,000 on both 1992 and 1993 models. Chrysler may be increasing rebates now to get buyers into its minivans before Ford Motor Co. comes out with its front-wheel-drive minivan late next year.
