San Francisco Giant owner Bob Lurie, blocked from selling his team
for $115 million, has agreed to accept a $100-million offer from a local
group that will keep it in San Francisco. The agreement is expected to
win approval from the other club owners, ending 3 1/2 months of
uncertainty that began last summer when Lurie said he planned to sell a
group of Florida investors who wanted to move the Giants to St.
Petersburg, Fla.
