 The following firms and individuals recently filed with the U.S.
Bankruptcy Court's local clerk of court offices.

 Under Chapter 11 of the federal bankruptcy code, a company is
protected from claims by creditors while it attempts to reorgan-
ize its finances under a plan approved by the court.  In a
Chapter 7 liquidation, a court trustee sells assets to pay credi-
tors' claims. The company then ceases operations.

District of Columbia<

 C-Brac Inc. of 7826 Eastern Ave. NW, filed for Chapter 11 reor-
ganization Oct. 21. The security service company listed assets as
$152,376 and liabilities as $682,527.

 Diplomat Associates L.P. of 2607 Connecticut Ave. NW, filed for
Chapter 11 reorganization Oct. 19. The owner of a 100-unit apart-
ment building listed assets as $3 million and liabilities as
$2,716,317.

 Custom Flower Designs Inc., also doing business as David Ladd
Co., of 6915 32nd St. NW, filed for Chapter 11 reorganization
Oct. 16. The retailer of decorative accessories and gifts listed
assets as more than $25,000 and liabilities as $55,214.

Maryland District<Rockville Court<

Red Run Restaurant Inc. of Red Run Cove, Deep Creek Lake, filed
for Chapter 11 reorganization Oct. 21. The restaurant listed as-
sets as $450,000 and liabilities as $490,000.

 Tri-State Optical Co. of 823 Noland Dr., Hagerstown, filed for
Chapter 7 liquidation Oct. 16. The lens manufacturer listed as-
sets as less than $50,000 and liabilities as between $100,000 and
$499,000.

 J&P Trucking Inc. of 1790 Sollers Wharf Rd., Lusby, filed for
Chapter 11 reorganization Oct. 16. The hauling company listed as-
sets as $65,500 and liabilities as $72,738.

 United Restaurant Enterprises Inc., doing business as El Charri-
to, of 19725A Germantown Rd., Germantown, filed for Chapter 11
reorganization Oct. 16. The restaurant listed assets as $155,531
and liabilities as $425,415.

Eastern Virginia District<Alexandria Division<

 Joseph A. King, doing business as National Capitol Area Pain
Management Center, of 2919 King St., Alexandria, filed for
Chapter 7 liquidation Oct. 16. The medical treatment center list-
ed assets as $525,200 and liabilities as $704,073.

 Cardinal Limousine & Tour Services Inc. of Box 10605, Arlington,
filed for Chapter 7 liquidation Oct.  19. The limousine and tour
service listed assets and liabilities each as less than $50,000.<
