CORRECTIONS=

An article yesterday about infant growth incorrectly implied the
word "saltatory" is derived from the process of nerve conduction
in salt solutions. In fact, the term - which describes processes
that occur in sudden, discrete steps - comes from the Latin verb
saltare, to leap or dance.<

The phone number for reservations for Red Thunder, a Native Amer-
ican music group performing Wednesday at the National Portrait
Gallery, is 202-357-2729. The St. John the Evangelist flea market
in Silver Spring is Nov. 7 and 8. The information was incorrect
in yesterday's Weekend section.<

Biographical information in Thursday's District Weekly incorrect-
ly listed the former elected offices of Ward 2 D.C. Council
member Jack Evans. He has been an ANC commissioner and treasurer
of the D.C. Democratic State Committee.<

The date of the Perry Como Holiday show at Patriot Center was in-
correct in the November Calendar in Style Plus on Monday. It is
