Reacting to last week's antitrust verdict in Minneapolis that threw out their system of restraints on player movement, owners shelved the World League until 1994, when it should return with a greater focus on Europe. PERFECT NFL TEAMS MEET: In the only battle of 2-0 teams on the NFL season's third weekend, the Philadelphia Eagles pit their run-stopping defense, ranked No. 1, against a sputtering Denver offense with the worst ground attack. The Eagles' Herschel Walker (229 yards), outrushed the Broncos in his first two games. He gained 114 yards in the opener, 115 Sunday. Denver's two-game total: 111. PHILIPPINES LOSE TITLE: Little League Baseball stripped the Philippines of this year's World Series title Thursday night and gave the championship to Long Beach, Calif.
