The Pirates' eight-run second inning Tuesday shelled Tom Glavine and shocked the Braves en route to a 13-4 Game 6 victory. The rout forces a one-game showdown for the pennant Wednesday. The Pirates matched the league championship record for runs in a game. GUZMAN, MOORE START IN GAME 6: Juan Guzman, who nailed down the AL East for Toronto, will try to clinch the Blue Jays' first pennant when he pitches Wednesday against the Oakland Athletics in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series. Guzman said he was not concerned about pitching on just three days rest. Toronto leads the series 3-2. Guzman goes against the Athletics' Mike Moore who pitched Game 2. MARINERS FIRE PLUMMER, STAFF: The Seattle Mariners, who finished last in the American League West and had the league's worst record, cleaned house Tuesday, firing first-year manager Bill Plummer and his entire coaching staff. A new replacement wasn't announced. Seattle GM Woody Woodward said a search committee will start the interviewing process immediately. Seattle finished at 54-98. WOMEN TAKE FIELD ON MEN'S TEAM: The first women to play together on a men's Division I soccer team will do it a second time Wednesday.
