SPORTS SHORTS HUSSEIN, MARKOVA WIN MARATHON: Ibrahim Hussein of Kenya and Olga Markova of Russia ran the second-fastest times in course history in winning titles at the 96th Boston Marathon Monday. Hussein defended his title and completed the 26.2 miles in 2 hours, 8 minutes, 14 seconds, 23 seconds off Rob de Castella's course record. Markova finished in 2:23:43, a minute off Joan Benoit Samuelson's course record. MORE BIG NAMES HURT: Baseball's list of wounded players continued to grow Monday. Some of the more prominent additions: Seattle's Kevin Mitchell, hitting just .217 and still looking for his first AL home run, has been sidelined with a sore right hand. Pittsburgh pitcher Bob Walk (strained groin muscle) and Houston third baseman Ken Caminiti (right shoulder) were placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday.
