TRAIL BLAZERS OUTLAST SUNS:
   The Portland Trail Blazers beat the Phoenix Suns 153-151 in 
double overtime Monday to take a 3-1 lead in their best-of-seven 
Western Conference semifinal series. It was the highest-scoring 
NBA playoff game ever. Kevin Duckworth put the Blazers ahead 
152-151 by making a free throw with 10.7 seconds left in the 
second overtime. Portland can advance with a win at home Thursday.
    
REYNOLDS LOSES APPEAL:
   Butch Reynolds will not be allowed to compete in the Olympics 
after losing his drug appeal Monday with the international track 
federation. But Reynolds is not giving up. "This is war. I'll be 
in Barcelona. If not representing the U.S., I'll watch (brother) 
Jeff run." Reynolds, declared positive for the steroid nandrolone, 
ends his two-year ban Aug. 12, just after the Olympics.
    
ANDERSON WINS STAGE 5:
   Motorola's Phil Anderson won the 133-mile Stage 5 of the Tour 
Du Pont Monday. Spain's Eladio Ambite, riding for Amaya, road 
alone for 67 miles during a solo breakaway, but was caught 7 miles 
from the finish line. England's Dave Mann, riding for Coors Light, 
remains the overall leader. Greg LeMond, riding for France's team 
Z, is still third.
